Northview Middle School is located in the rural community of Kodak, Tennessee and is part of the Sevier County School District.

MISSION STATEMENT

Northview Middle School envisions a partnership dedicated to providing the paths that inspire lifelong learners to value human dignity, contribute to society, and strive for excellence.

Our History
In 1951, the Kodak school was opened. It combined children from the old Henry's Cross Roads, Beech Springs, and French Broad Valley schools. In 1977 the name of the school was changed to Northview Middle School. On October 12, 1984 the old Northview Primary School (old Underwood School) was closed and the middle school housed grades K-8. On March 10, 1998, under the leadership of Principal Judy Harrell the new Northview Middle School was opened for grades 6-8. The new building was built behind the old school which became the elementary school. At the start of the 1999-2000 school year the 5th grade was added in order to relieve overcrowding at the elementary school. The beginning of the 2000-2001 school year saw the formation of the Northview PTSO. This group has pledged support for the middle school and is working to add new technology to the classrooms. In December of 2000 an addition was started. This addition added 4 more classrooms to NMS.  In June of 2001 Northview Middle School welcomed its second principal, Mr. Jim Davis.
